Bollywood Fetes Acclaimed Director Zhang Yimou - PTI

Renowned Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, who is behind internationally acclaimed films like “Red Sorghum,” “Ju Dou” and “House of Flying Daggers,” feels Indian cinema has broken the stereotype of dancing and singing by venturing into other genres as well.

“There have been lot of changes in the Indian movie industry. I would love to get to know more about the films here,” Zhang told PTI Oct. 20.

“For India it is singing and dancing in movies, while for China it is martial arts and kung fu. Both Asian countries have a lot of things in common. We see lot of potential for collaboration,” he said.

Zhang was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the 14th Mumbai Film Festival. He said he was surprised to get selected for the award, because he does not know whether he is popular in India.

Kareena shoots for the item number - Fevicol - TOI

Barely a month since her wedding and Kareena Kapoor is already busy shooting. And the first assignment she has taken up post marriage is the much publicised item song in Salman Khan's Dabangg 2 - Fevicol

Bebo along with the crew had been busy shooting the dance number that promises to be more 'entertaining' than Munni in Dabangg for the last two days in Mumbai's Mehboob Studios when Mirror lensman Raju Shelar managed to get a sneak preview of the actress on the sets.

In the studio premises, we spotted the actress sporting a nose ring and a 70's style bouffant. On investigating further, we learnt that the song will have a very 'Lucknowi' flavour to it. A source told Mirror, "The sets for the song has been inspired by the 'gallis of Lucknow'.

The dancers are also dressed accordingly. Manish Malhotra, who designed Bebo's wardrobe for the song flew down to Lucknow specially to acquire elements for the dress."

Though the picture, taken in between the shots shows the actress sporting a oversized shirt, in the song, Bebo will sport a black lungi similar to the one her sister Karisma wore in the 90s' chartbuster Sarkailiyo Khatiya. "Manish has taken special care in the detailing of Bebo's attire," added the source.

According to sources, the song has a very rustic look and feel. We also learnt that Bebo would complete the dance number before leaving for her honeymoon. Now that's what we call dedication.

Kapoors of Bollywood are like the Apple iPhone - ndtv

It was a family weekend in more ways than one for arguably Bollywood's premier dynasty, the Kapoors, who spent some rare quality time together. The new Mr and Mrs Saif Ali Khan made their first joint appearance on the opening night of the revamped Prithvi theatre in Mumbai while not so far away in Goa, Ranbir, Rishi and Karisma also bonded at the Tehelka ThinkFest. Thanks - http://adf.ly/ERfDl

Superstar couple Saif and Kareena proved they aren't all work and no play by gracing the Prithvi festival and interacting with relatives. "I am really proud to be a part of a family that is so creative. Whether its films, whether its theatre, whether it's dance I just feel proud today to be a Kapoor," said Kareena Kapoor.

"It was an amazing experience and I was actually very happy to be here. I remember Shashi uncle being so proud of Prithvi Theatre," said Saif Ali Khan.

South of Mumbai, there was more khandan camaraderie on display at the Tehelka ThinkFest in Goa, where Ranbir Kapoor stole the show from father Rishi and cousin Karisma.

Ranbir Kapoor revealed that when his report card came he used to cry along with his friend at the thought of showing it to his parents. Ranbir said, " My friend then hit me and asked me what I was crying for, you don't have to become a doctor like me. That's when it struck me that maybe I don't need to study that hard to become an actor."

Ranbir also likened the different generations of Kapoors to the Apple iPhone and said, "It's just that the new generation is slimmer."
